Dangers of Type-G lift trucks
The lift truck is essential for completing warehouse tasks. These extremely capable machines raise and move loads of huge size from one location to another. Lift trucks have many variations. The primary variation is the way in which different types of forklifts are fueled. "LP" lift trucks are the kind which is most common. They run on liquid propane. Type "E" lift trucks have big rechargeable batteries and run on electricity. Type "D" lift trucks utilize diesel and type "G" operate on gasoline. While all forklifts, like any piece of heavy machine, can pose a danger, gasoline powered forklifts pose the most risks.

Fire
Forklifts labelled type G could present a fire hazard. Gas forklifts are not made with the same rigorous standards. Gas leaks are the biggest cause of fire due mostly to gas leaks and also escaped gas fumes. This could result from normal wear and from accidents or driving on really rough terrain. These circumstances pose a risk and can lead to fire. Thus, a standard Type G forklift must never be utilized in conditions where elevated fire risk is deemed not acceptable. For instance, these units must not be utilized around hazardous or explosive chemicals.

Explosion
Gas lift trucks also pose a risk of explosion, as do diesel and liquid propane based forklifts. A type of lift truck that operate on gasoline can explode as a result of a serious accident in circumstances where an ignition source and a gasoline leak are both present. An explosion could happen when sparks are created in the collision and the sparks ignite the gasoline.

Fumes and Exhaust
Type G forklifts pose a serious inhalation danger because of toxic fumes. Gasoline fumes could be deadly in high concentrations. Fumes can result from the exhaust itself or from gasoline leaks. Hence, a Type G lift truck is really not suggested for any environment which is poorly ventilated. The exhaust would present a serious hazard in enclosed spaces. This particular kind of forklift must be used with caution when operated in close proximity to people.
